Helen Gladys Kersh passed away January 7, 2009 in Orem, Utah.

She was born December 31, 1932 in Harbor Beach, Michigan to John and Helen Wolmar Hodson.

She married Philip Thayer Kersh on November 26, 1955 in Minden City, Michigan. She graduated from the TOURO School of Nursing in New Orleans in 1953 and as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia in 1967; she looked after and cared for the well being of others.

She became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints March 30, 1974 and was sealed to her husband in the Salt Lake Temple on July 28, 1975. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many callings which she greatly enjoyed at both the ward and stake levels including Stake Primary President, Family History Center Director, and Temple Worker in the St. Paul, Minnesota Temple. She was always involved in many diverse and interesting activities, some of which included dog obedience training, politics, and family genealogy. She always included her family wherever she was involved.

She is survived by her husband Philip and her four children, Douglas (Seattle, WA), Stuart (Denver, CO), Cameron (Orem, UT), Philip Spencer (Santaquin, UT), 22 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13th, at 1 p.m. at the Brookside 2nd Ward, 952 W 1580 S., Payson, UT. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the services from 11am - 12:45pm. Interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery.
