Jean Henrietta Syndergaard Nelson, 80, of Provo peacefully passed away on August 3, 2006. She was born in Mount Pleasant, Utah to John Henry Syndergaard and Lottie Seeley on July 2, 1926. She attended Mount Pleasant Schools and Wasatch Academy.
Jean married her sweetheart, William James Nelson on January 17, 1943 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was a dedicated, loving mother to three sons and four daughters. She worked for the Provo School District in the school lunch program. Jean enjoyed her association with the Square Dance Club and loved square dancing, travel, karate, gem and mineral collecting, and sunsets. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jean is survived by her children, Billie Jean (Larry) Calder, Roberts, ID; Patricia (Ron) Burr, Beaver, UT; William J. (Michelle), Aurora, CO; Louise (Randy) Parry, Mapleton, UT; John (Rose), Ukiah, CA; Debra (Mike) Adams, Orem, UT; and David (Angela), Provo, UT. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, siblings, William, Molen, Frank, Lois, Louise, and Harold, and two granddaughters, Meleena and Kim Parry.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at theWalker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary or on Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to funeral services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
